Thinking of these as a gift? They make a thoughtful, book-safe present for any reader, and the FAQ below covers everything a gift-giver might want to check first.

Will a magnetic bookmark damage my book?

Our bookmarks use two small neodymium magnets enclosed within a folded fabric or laminated card sleeve. The magnets grip the page from both sides without puncturing, creasing, or tearing it under normal use.

What book formats work best?

These bookmarks are well-suited to standard paperbacks, hardcovers, journals, planners, and most trade-format books. They sit comfortably on pages of typical weight (60–120 gsm) and remain securely in place without slipping when the book is closed.

Can I use them on delicate or thin paper?

On very thin paper — such as pages found in some Bibles, dictionaries, or lightweight reference books — the magnet force can occasionally leave a faint impression if the bookmark is left in place for an extended period under pressure. For paper under approximately 60 gsm, we suggest repositioning the bookmark regularly or using it as a front-cover marker rather than mid-book.

Are they safe for library books?

These bookmarks are generally safe for library books with standard-weight pages. Because library policies vary, we recommend checking with your local library if you are unsure about their preferred handling guidelines.

Will the magnets affect anything else?

Keep the bookmark away from credit cards, hotel key cards, and other magnetically encoded cards, as close contact with neodymium magnets may affect their data. The magnets are not strong enough to damage modern smartphones or e-readers at normal reading distances.
